The Black Business Professional Network 3rd Thursday networking event will be held at the Herald-Tribune building lobby and meeting room first floor. This event will feature an “Empowered Moment” presentation on Successful Networking Strategies (her own story) by Sarasota’s own Carolyn D. Robinson, Vice President, Senior Branch Manager, SunTrust Bank. Carolyn is a native of Sarasota and an accomplished business women, active community citizen and Vice President, Senior Manager of the bank’s largest branch office in the area. Carolyn will be followed by a facilitated panel discussion on the subject of networking. Along with Carolyn D. Robinson, panelist will include: Henry "Hank" Battie, President, Cravats' Custom Clothiers & Fine Accessories, Monique M. November 7, 2006 - Community Entrepreneur Opportunity Program - Thanks to All Who Attended

Thanks to all who attended the Community Entrepreneur Opportunity Graduation Ceremony held on November 7, 2006 at the Newtown Selby Goodwill. The event was especially rewarding for the newly graduated entrepreneurs of the fourth class of the program, many of whom are already successfully operating businesses. Tony Milton of All About You Urban Wear (Urban clothing essentials) and one of the CEO graduates already running a business spoke to the audience about what the program meant to the success of his business. "This program was a tremendous asset to the future success of my business, though I had the financial means to go into business- what I lacked was the business knowledge this program has provided to assure its success."

Manatee Community College Hosts Information Sessions About Teaching Certification Preparation Program

Interested in becoming a teacher? MCC’s teaching certification preparation for non-education majors with at least a bachelor’s degree may be just the program for you. The program allow for evening and weekend scheduling of classes for working professionals. After finishing all courses in the program and passing required state and college exams, participants will receive certificates of completion that make the eligible to apply for the Florida Department of Education teaching certificate. The cost of MCC’s alternative certification program is approximately $2000.
