Come out and celebrate the spirit of the holiday season with the Black Business Professional Network. The BBPN Holiday Cafe will showcase some of the areas most talented. Whether jazz artist, Neo - Soul or R & B performer, spoken-word artist, poet or comedian, the audience will roar with laughter, applause and head – bobbing. The talent line-up is filling with names like: Nate Jacobs, Margaret Clark, LaTerry Butler and Friends, the Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe and the list goes on. Don’t miss your chance on the “Open Mic.” This all rocks on the 1st level of Esca.The 2nd level is all about DJ Fred and his up-scale mix of R & B, Neo-Soul and Contemporary Jazz, all for the mature savvy crowd, eager to dance the night away. Let’s not forget the delectable holiday edible treats. This is guaranteed to be an evening of fun and entertainment for all. Hardcover books: .50 cents, Paperback books: 2 for .25 cents. There are also collectibles, classics, quality children's books and assorted media. The sale will run the following dates: Thursday, December 7, 10AM-8PM, Friday, December 8, 10AM-6PM, Saturday, December 9, 10AM-6PM. Volunteer Opportunity Help moderate to low income families get cash back from their taxes. The Central Economic Development Center, Bradenton will institute a Volunteer Return Preparation Program this tax season. Free tax preparation will be offered through a group of volunteer tax preparers. Requirements are approximately twenty-four hours of training in early December on a tax software. Each volunteer will serve a three to four hour shift once a week from the end of January to the latter part of February (six weeks). Come out and make an economic difference in our community.
