Tuesday, May 1, 2007 Independent Black Filmmaker Teams with "The gg Monologues" to Produce Television Series Independent Black Filmmaker has secured an option to the play "The gg Monologues" to turn it into an episodic TV series. Terry "Tbone" Rhodes is looking for serious investors to support the production of the first five episodes. The shows will be broadcast on cable and internet outlets. The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the Community Foundation of Sarasota County's Nonprofit Resource Center, the Young Professionals Group (YPG) and Leadership Sarasota County (LSC) programs to present "Get on Board! Leadership Engagement Training," an interactive, fast-paced workshop for young professionals and others who are currently serving on boards of directors or who want to serve on boards. National governance expert Dr. Sandra Hughes will share the roles and responsibilities of board members, best practices, financial and legal issues, board structure and governance, effective fundraising, planning and evaluation techniques, and committee structures. Local volunteer leadership opportunities to serve will also be discussed. The workshop will take place on Friday, May 25, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Community Foundation of Sarasota County (2635 Fruitville Road). Persons in the age group (under 31), prior military personnel, previous air traffic controllers could qualify. salaries for these positions could reach over $100,000 with benefits in about 3 years. You need only a high school diploma to apply and credit is given for college on the exam. They need to go to http://www.faa.gov/jobs/job_opportunities/airtraffic_controllers/ for details and to fill out the application immediately - whether you can attend immediately or not - the federal government may take several months to call.
