Art Center Sarasota is proud to announce an exhibition of Michael Ransdell’s mixed media constructions. Ranging in size from miniature to gigantic, his objects have an anatomical perspective that defies simple classification as sculpture or mixed media. Michael Ransdell describes his work as objects of mystery made from exotic woods, burls, and driftwood.

The Fine Art of Photography
The 4th Annual Florida Photography Juried Exhibition featuring over 100 exemplary photographs in black & white and color by Florida artists.

Thursday, May 3 - 19, 2007 Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe Presents "Once Upon This Island"

ONCE ON THIS ISLAND, The Little Mermaid. Set in Haiti this bittersweet romance tells in Calypso rhythms with soaring melodies and sultry dances the story of Ti Moune, a poor orphan girl and her search for romance and happiness.

This folk tale, which will delight both young and old, opened on Broadway in 1990 and was nominated for 8 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book. The WBTT production is directed by Reggie Kelly (who directed the sell-out production of DREAMGIRLS) and will have in its cast company members Whitney Reshard and Porter Anderson.

At the HISTORIC ASOLO Theatre , 5401 Bay Shore Rd., Sarasota (located inside the Visitors' Center of the John and Mable Ringling Museum), 5/3- 5/19, 2007 (TH, FRI, SAT,) at 8:00 PM, 5/5, 5/12 and 5/19 (SAT) at 2:00 PM.
